Martens Hamilton, MA, MFT
I joined the staff of Family Consultation Service in 2000. Before becoming a Marriage and Family Therapy Intern, I worked in youth/women's ministries and studied theology at Bethel Seminary San Diego. This academic and ministry background gives me the opportunity to understand how our spiritual lives are involved in everyday problems. For me, the combination of theology and therapeutic techniques is natural and exciting, allowing me to address both spiritual and emotional concerns with clients.
My focus in therapy is to help people look at how and why they might be stuck in relating and behaving patterns that lead to disconnection in their relationships. We then explore how they can remove those barriers to find freedom and closeness.
